Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to provide comprehensive PT services under the direction of the Director or designee. The role emphasizes collaborative care within the Labor/Management Partnership environment.

You will participate in staff education, mentorship, in-service presentations, and ongoing performance improvement initiatives, supporting high-quality patient outcomes across Kaiser facilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Physical Therapist.
• Graduate from an accredited PT program (Bachelor, Master, or Doctoral) with PT certification.
• Licensed Physical Therapist in California at hire; NPI required at hire; BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide PT services under supervision as applicable.
• Conduct department in-services upon management request (journal clubs or in-services).
• Serve as a clinical instructor as requested.
• Assist in orientation and training of staff.
• Provide staff consultations and mentorship where appropriate.
• Monitor contract therapists and patient care where Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
• Participate in performance improvement projects as requested.

Job Summary:

Provides physical therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assumes the responsibility as outlined in the Physical Therapists job summary and responsibilities.
• Provides department in-service as requested by management (e.g., journal club presentation, and or regular in-service presentation).
• Serves as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
• Assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
• Provides consultation to staff.
• May act as a mentor for staff.
• May provide input into the clinical competency of staff.
• Identifies process Improvement opportunities.
• May assist in the development and implementation of new clinical practice models for the delivery of care.
• Participates in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
• May be involved in the clinical competency of PTAs and Rehab Aides.
• May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities
• Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.

Basic Qualifications:

Experience

• Minimum of (2) years experience as a Physical Therapist.

Education

• Graduate of an accredited physical therapy curriculum with a Bachelor or Master or Doctoral degree with certification in physical therapy or foreign trained equivalent.

License, Certification, Registration

• Physical Therapist License (California) required at hire

• National Provider Identifier required at hire

• Basic Life Support

Additional Requirements:

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local requirements
• Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

• APTA Certified Clinical Instructor preferred
