Job Details

The Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. The PT is an integral healthcare provider accountable for helping patients progress to their highest level of function. The Senior Therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Essential Functions

  1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in alignment with Jefferson's values.
  2. Provides therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full caseload across acute care, skilled facilities, rehab, and outpatient settings.
  3. Participates in student education (Part-Time ICE, OT Level I, or Full-Time students).
  4. Assesses, synthesizes, and applies literature to clinical practice.
  5. Engages in education and teaching appropriate to a novice clinician.
  6. Plans, organizes, and delivers treatment programs to aid patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  7. Utilizes appropriate tools and techniques to administer safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  8. Documents patient progress, interventions, evaluations, and discharge summaries accurately.
  9. Assists with staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments for new or rotating staff.
  10. Suggests and implements program development or performance improvement activities with managerial approval.
  11. Completes educational, teaching, and professional activities relevant to the role.
  12. Supports departmental operations and ongoing clinical activities.
  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Education: Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (SLP), or Bachelors/Masters/Doctoral in Occupational Therapy (OT), or Bachelors/Masters/Doctoral in Physical Therapy (PT) from an accredited program.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of current clinical practice.

PT License & Certification: Valid state license in Physical Therapy, BLS, and CPR certification via AHA.
