Job description

Job Description

The Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. The PT is an integral healthcare provider accountable for helping patients progress to their highest level of function. The Senior Level therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health, working in conjunction with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans and care.

Essential Functions:
  1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff consistent with Jefferson's values.
  2. Provides therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full patient caseload in various settings such as acute care, skilled facilities, acute rehab, and outpatient.
  3. Participates in student education (Part-Time ICE, OT level I, or Full-Time students).
  4. Assesses, synthesizes, and applies literature to clinical practice.
  5. Participates in education and teaching appropriate to a novice clinician.
  6. Plans, organizes, and delivers treatment programs to aid patient recovery and rehabilitation.
  7. Utilizes tools and techniques for safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
  8. Records and documents patient progress, interventions, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  9. Assists with staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments.
  10. Suggests and implements program development or performance improvement activities with supervisor approval.
  11. Completes educational, teaching, and professional activities as appropriate.
  12. Supports departmental operations and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Program.
  • Minimum of 5 years of current clinical practice.
  • Valid state license in Physical Therapy.
  • BLS and CPR certification via AHA.
