Job Details

The Senior Physical Therapist is responsible for the evaluation, treatment, and discharge planning of all patients referred for their services. The PT is an essential healthcare provider committed to helping patients reach their highest potential. The Senior Therapist will uphold the mission, vision, and values of Jefferson Health and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate treatment plans.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

1. Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and staff in accordance with Jefferson's values.
2. Provides therapy evaluations, treatment planning, interventions, and discharge planning for a full caseload across acute care, skilled facilities, rehab, and outpatient settings.
3. Participates in student education for ICE, OT level I, or full-time students.
4. Applies current literature to clinical practice.
5. Engages in education and teaching activities appropriate for a novice clinician.
6. Develops and implements treatment programs to facilitate recovery and rehabilitation.
7. Utilizes tools and techniques to ensure safe therapeutic interventions and training for patients and families.
8. Documents patient progress, including treatments, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
9. Assists with staff orientation, mentorship, and competency assessments.
10. Contributes to program development and performance improvement activities with supervisor approval.
11. Completes professional development activities as appropriate.
12. Supports departmental operations and performs additional duties as assigned.
