Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Power Substation Physical Design Engineer in Knoxville, TN for a hybrid in-office role. The candidate will handle physical design tasks for substations from 34.5kV to 500kV, collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, and communicate with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Required is a BSEE or BSME from an ABET-accredited university and 6–12 years in the power utility sector. PE is preferred; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.
• 6-12 years of experience in the power utility industry
• Professional Engineering (PE) license is preferred

Mesa is seeking an experienced (6 to 12 years) BSEE or BSME for a position in Power Substation Physical Design. The successful candidate shall have extensive experience in the field of Power Substation Engineering Design within the US Power industry. A BSEE or BSME from an ABET accredited University is required. The successful candidate will work in an in-office (hybrid basis), collaborative team environment to provide engineering design support for physical design of Power Substations ranging in voltage levels from 34.5K to 500kV. As a Senior Engineer, this individual will be expected to be skilled in all aspects of Physical Substation design and able to thoroughly evaluate Physical design project packages for adherence to standards and for constructability of design. Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor would be considered a plus. Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders at all levels is required. Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is not required but would be considered a plus.

This opportunity is for a hybrid work environment (home and office) and requires residing in the Knoxville, TN area.
