Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete discipline engineering designs and supporting documentation.
• Coordinate and prepare design details, plans, and drawings.
• Interface with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects as required.
• Adhere to project scope, schedule, and budget on all assigned projects.
• Assist with project execution, work processes, and procedures to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency.
• Use strong verbal and written communication with team members and clients.
• Attend client-organized project meetings as required.
• Work with field engineers to resolve construction issues.
• Incorporate safe work practices into all activities.
• Establish, promote, and assure quality on all project work.

Mesa is seeking a Physical Engineering Associate for our Power Delivery Substation engineering design team based out of Knoxville, TN. The successful candidate should have 3-6 years of experience in Physical substation design in 69kV to 500kV substations. This individual will work with a team to complete substation Physical design projects to meet client standards and practices. They will be responsible for maintaining good quality and efficiency while developing deliverables such as: One-Line Diagrams, Substation General/Electrical Arrangement Plans, Electrical Arrangement Elevations, Foundation Plans, Conduit Plans, Bills of Materials, Cable Schedules, Aluminum/Steel Fabrication Details.

Education/Experience/Licensure

• A minimum of a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or related, from an ABET accredited college or university is required.
• Progressively responsible experience in 69kV to 500kV substation Physical design is preferred. However, we would consider someone with no experience, but an interest in substations.
• FE (EIT) is preferred.

• Use interpersonal skills to build relationships with team members and clients.
• Possess knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.
• Estimate and assist in the preparation of bid packages.
