Job summary

ITCON Services is seeking a Senior PHP Developer for a contingent, hands-on role in Vienna, VA or Kansas City, MO with remote eligibility. The candidate will design, develop, and maintain PHP web apps and knowledge platforms, including MediaWiki and Matomo analytics, while performing unit testing and working across teams.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software development experience, US citizenship or GC, and the ability to obtain USDA Tier 2 clearance; familiarity with AWS, Jira, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; 5+ years in software development.
• US Citizenship or Green Card required.
• Ability to obtain USDA Public Trust/Tier 2 clearance.
• Hands-on PHP development with modern web apps and RESTful services.
• Experience with Angular/AngularJS or similar front-end frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, including S3, RDS, and deployments.
• MediaWiki installation/configuration and admin tasks preferred.
• Matomo analytics setup, dashboards, privacy-aware reporting.
• Experience with Jira and agile/scrum processes.
• Strong secure coding practices and accessibility standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance PHP-based web apps.
• Contribute to knowledge management platforms and MediaWiki tasks.
• Implement Matomo analytics and dashboards for stakeholder reporting.
• Conduct unit testing and ensure high quality code.
• Mentor junior staff and coordinate across teams.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and disaster recovery readiness.
• Work in agile or waterfall projects and document technical work.
