Job summary

LUMASERV is seeking a PHP Backend Engineer to develop and maintain customer projects servicing millions of users daily. You will work with product managers, developers, and architects to build robust, scalable backend solutions using Laravel and modern PHP frameworks.

You will publicly contribute to open source projects and help shape the technical direction while writing clean, well-tested code and reviewing team practices. Strong Docker and Git experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Extensive professional experience in PHP backend development on enterprise level.
• Advanced experience with Git and Git flows.
• Proficiency in writing automated tests (PHPUnit, Pest).
• Experience with project management tools (e.g. Linear or Notion).
• Strong understanding of web security principles and common vulnerabilities.
• Strong experience with local development setups based on Docker.

• Collaborate with product managers, developers and architects to build robust backend solutions.
• Contribute ideas for new features to advance open source products.
• Publicly contribute to large open source projects we’re working with.
