Job summary

Monarch Quantum in San Diego seeks a Senior Photonics Module Test Engineer to own characterization, qualification, and reliability testing for photonic components and modules. You will design and build test stations, run DOE-driven experiments, and produce lab-quality data to guide design decisions and product readiness.

You will collaborate with architecture and design engineers across EVT, DVT, and PVT phases, developing automated test sequences using Python/LabVIEW/MATLAB, and delivering

Qualifications

• Hands-on photonics laboratory experience with optical setups.
• Experience with free-space and fiber optics and precision alignment.
• Experience in reliability or qualification testing (burn-in, aging).
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills; DOE experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Characterization: design and operate test setups; measure power, wavelength, phase noise, RIN, nonlinearity, beam parameters.
• DOE: draft plans, run experiments, document results, deliver data analyses.
• Reliability: conduct life testing, trend data, generate reports.
• DVPR: support/lead tests across EVT/DVT/PVT, write plans, build automated test sequences (Python/LabVIEW/MATLAB).
