Job summary

Raytheon seeks a Senior Photonics Integrated Circuit Design Engineer to join the Surface Radars and Sensors Center in San Diego. You will design, model, layout, and test RF photonic devices and subsystems for Advanced Technology programs, collaborating with senior engineers across disciplines.

You will contribute to architectural studies, test plans, and IRAD efforts while advancing hybrid electronic-photonics components. A STEM degree with 5+ years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree and 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience designing integrated photonic circuits or photonic chips.
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) preferred in Physics/Optics/Photonic or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate/model, and layout integrated photonic components in foundry-based fabrication environments.
• Support post-fabrication assembly, test setups, and benchtop testing of photonic devices and subsystems.
• Conduct architectural trade studies on wideband RF and hybrid electronic-photonic components.
