Qualifications

• Ph.D. or MS in electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or a related field with 3+ years of experience in integrated photonics.
• Experience with integrated photonic design, simulation, and layout.
• Hands-on experience with optical testing and device characterization.

HEPT Lab is a fast-paced startup developing next-generation electro-optic sensing solutions. We are looking for motivated engineers excited to work at the frontier of photonic sensing and thrive in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

We are seeking an experienced senior photonics engineer to own the design, implementation, and characterization of key photonic subsystems and integrated photonic components for HEPT Lab’s next-generation sensing systems.

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. or M.S. degree in electrical engineering, applied physics, photonics, or a related field with 3 or more years of experience in integrated photonics
• Experience with integrated photonic design, simulation, and layout
• Hands‑on experience with optical testing and device characterization

Preferred Qualifications

• Photonic foundry tapeout experience
• Experience with electro‑optic modulators and photodetectors
• Experience with semiconductor gain materials, lasers, optical amplifiers, or heterogeneous integration
