Job summary
PHIX in Bozeman, MT is seeking a Photonic Packaging Engineer to develop and refine PIC packaging and assembly processes. You will lead customer projects, translating their requirements into precise assembly designs and collaborating with our engineers to optimize manufacturability.
The role requires an MSc in photonics or a related field, with 3+ years in photonic or electronic packaging or testing, Six Sigma experience, and proficiency in optical design software such as Zemax.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in photonics/optical science or a related field.
- At least 3 years of packaging or testing experience in photonics or electronics.
- Experience applying Six Sigma to product development or process improvement.
- Experience with optical design software such as Ansys Zemax.
Responsibilities
- Hands-on packaging and assembly of PIC-based modules.
- Translate customer requirements into detailed assembly designs.
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize product designs for manufacturability.
- Develop and refine assembly setups for validation and prototyping.
- Implement automation to improve efficiency and scalability.
- Lead customer projects and ensure successful delivery.
