Job summary

Job description

About Indium Phosphide (InP) Technology

The world’s communications infrastructure depends on semiconductor lasers, particularly those based on indium phosphide technology. Indium phosphide lasers are engineered to emit at wavelengths optimal for long‑distance transmission through fiber optics, enabling the optical networks that form the global internet.

Responsibilities
  • Install, qualify, maintain, and optimize photolithography equipment in a semiconductor fab.
  • Drive yield, uptime, and process stability.
  • Work in a cleanroom manufacturing environment.
  • Equip install and qualification of new fab tools.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot tools; documentation of repairs.
  • Partner with process engineers to fix production issues.
  • Manage vendors and tool performance metrics.
  • Prepare purchase requests for vendors and parts.
  • Implement Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) strategies.
Education & Experience
  • AA or BS and at least 10 years of wafer fab equipment engineering experience.
  • Experience in photolithography.
  • Professional certifications are a plus.
Skills
  • Semiconductor fab experience with ASM, Cannon steppers, Tel tracks, and aligners.

Working Conditions

Fab work requires wearing personal protective equipment such as a bunny suit, face mask, gloves, and booties; PPE is mandatory when working on certain applications.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing some times (up to 8 hours per day).
  • Lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Pushing or pulling up to 50 lbs.
  • Sitting some times (up to 8 hours per day).
Safety Requirements

All employees must follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. corporate EHS standards.
