Job summary

MACOM, headquartered in Lowell, MA, seeks a Photodetector Product Engineer to own and evolve photodetector products across their lifecycle. You’ll partner with R&D, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure product performance and manufacturability, using a data-driven approach to drive yield and reliability improvements.

The role involves leading NPIs and transitioning products to production, with an emphasis on cross-functional collaboration and rigorous qualification processes.

Qualifications

• Our strong understanding of optoelectronic devices and photodetectors guides product decisions.
• Proficiency with data analysis and programming tools such as Python, MATLAB, SQL, JMP and Excel.
• Experience with reliability testing, yield analysis, and SPC methodologies.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own released photodetector products and product lines, driving improvements in performance, yield, cost, and reliability.
• Support transitions of new products from engineering to manufacturing and ramp to production.
• Ensure all manufacturing deliverables are production-ready, including hardware, documentation, BOMs, and costing.
• Coordinate with Design and Test Engineering to define specifications and test requirements.
• Generate and analyze SPC charts, run charts, and trend reports to drive data-based decisions.
• Collaborate with internal/external teams to resolve production and quality issues.
