POSITION : SENIOR PHLEBOTOMIST

Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Coordinator, the Sr. Phlebotomist assumes responsibility for performing venipunctures, capillary blood specimen collections, point of care testing (POCT), and related procedures according to hospital policies and procedures. The Sr. Phlebotomist will also assist in training and guiding phlebotomy students and new employees, supporting the internal functioning of the Department and its integration into the overall hospital operations. The Sr. Phlebotomist promotes a culture of Service Excellence and adheres to its standards with all customer groups.

Job Duties / Responsibilities :
  1. Practices phlebotomy according to standards set by CAP, CLIA, Joint Commission, and other regulatory agencies, following organizational policies and procedures.
  2. Supports performance improvement initiatives in assigned areas.
  3. Performs phlebotomy and waived testing in laboratories, clinics, outreach facilities, health fairs, and patient locations, ensuring efficiency and quality.

Qualifications :
  • High school diploma or equivalent; phlebotomy program completion preferred; college coursework preferred.
  • Minimum of three years full-time experience.
  • Certification: PBT(ASCP) required; phlebotomy program certificate preferred.
  • BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
