Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of phlebotomy experience.
• High School Diploma (or equivalent) required.
• Phlebotomy Certificate (if required by State).

Responsibilities

• Verifies test requisitions by comparing information with nursing station log; discrepancies reported.
• Verifies patient by reading patient identification.
• Obtains blood specimens by venipunctures and finger sticks.
• Maintains specimen integrity by aseptic technique and department procedures.
• Tracks collected specimens by initialing, dating, and noting collection times.
