A key member of the Advancement & Donor Services team, the Senior Philanthropy Officer serves as a strategic relationship-builder responsible for expanding philanthropic engagement, growing charitable assets, and strengthening donor relationships throughout the communities served by the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation and its affiliates.

This position develops, cultivates, and stewards relationships with current and prospective donors, fundholders, professional advisors, affiliate leaders, community partners, and emerging philanthropists. The Senior Philanthropy Officer leads initiatives that grow charitable giving, encourage philanthropic legacies, expand planned giving opportunities, and strengthen the Foundation's impact across northern Ottawa County. This role offers the opportunity to help shape and expand the Advancement & Donor Services department, contribute to new strategies and initiatives, and support the Foundation's continued growth and long-term success.

The ideal candidate is a genuine and authentic relationship-builder who combines strategic thinking, initiative, strong communication skills, and sound judgment with a passion for philanthropy, community impact, and meaningful donor engagement.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

• Growth in philanthropic engagement, charitable giving, and donor relationships throughout northern Ottawa County.
• Strong relationships with donors, professional advisors, affiliate leaders, community partners, and prospective philanthropists that generate increased planned giving activity, Legacy Society participation, and professional advisor referrals.
• Successful cultivation efforts that result in new charitable funds, planned gifts, philanthropic investments, and long-term donor engagement.
• Strong partnerships and meaningful engagement within affiliate communities, the Youth Advisory Council, and emerging philanthropic networks.
• Development and execution of strategies that support donor engagement, affiliate growth, and the Foundation's long-term success, resulting in the consistent achievement of annual goals and effective representation of the Foundation throughout the community.
