Job summary

University of Kentucky HealthCare in Lexington, KY seeks a Pharmacy Technician to provide specialty pharmacy services, obtain prior authorizations, and enroll patients in financial assistance programs. You will work with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve access to medications for various sub-specialty diseases.

There is potential for a recruitment bonus; remote schedule options are available with primarily Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Nationally certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB/PTCE) or NHA (ExCPT) and registered with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy within 30 days of hire.
• Hospital/retail pharmacy technician experience and healthcare customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialty pharmacy services including obtaining prior authorizations and enrolling patients in financial support programs.
• Coordinate first-time dispenses and refills for specialty medications.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and UK Specialty Pharmacy staff to improve medication access.
