Job summary

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III at Providence Covenant Medical Center handles filling and dispensing unit doses and stock medications to nursing units and departments. You will fill oral and IV meds, triage orders, and maintain the ADS with advanced knowledge across specialties.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, state licenses, and 2+ years of integrated health-system pharmacy practice with PTCB certification. Hospital-experience and ADS familiarity are highly valued.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Upon hire: New Mexico Pharmacy Technician - New Mexico Board of Pharmacy or
• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
• Minimum of 2 years (>4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification - OR - 3 years (>6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification.
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Has advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.

Required Qualifications:

• Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state.
