Job summary

Providence Health Plan Group is seeking a part-time Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III to support filling and dispensing unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to nursing units and other departments. You will handle oral and IV medications, triage orders, and ensure the automated dispensing system remains accurate.

The role requires Texas Pharmacy Technician licensure (trainee or registered) and 2+ years of hospital or integrated health system experience with PTCB certification.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee license upon hire or Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician license.
• Minimum two years of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB certification, or three years hospital pharmacy if no PTCB.
• Prior experience with ADMs and EHRs.

Responsibilities

Job description

We have Part time, evening and day shift position. Working shift hours could be between operations hours of 8:30 AM-8:00 PM and/or 9:00am to 5:00 pm Saturday/Sunday.

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Has advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.

Required Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or
• Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License.
• Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification - OR - 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification.
• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program.
• Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances).
• Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state.

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.

Pay Range: $20.43 - $31.27 The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
