Job summary

Walgreens is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to support the pharmacy team in San Mateo, CA. Under pharmacist supervision, you will enter patient and drug data, fill prescriptions, check for interactions, and assist with inventory and cash handling.

You’ll help deliver high-quality customer service and maintain accurate records in line with company policies. Flexibility for evenings or weekends is required, with opportunities to grow through ongoing training and certification maintenance

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except Puerto Rico).
• One year of pharmacy technician experience in retail or hospital.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist in entering patient and drug information and filling prescriptions.
• Verify medicine accuracy and check for potential drug interactions.
• Support inventory management and auditing of pharmaceutical supplies.
• Process third-party claims and handle clerical duties as assigned.
• Provide courteous customer service and guide customers to OTC products.
• Assist with cash handling and checkout processes.
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and maintain pharmacy workflow.
• Maintain compliance with pharmacy policy and training requirements.
