Job summary

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification required (except in Puerto Rico).
• At least 1 year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire (except in certain locations).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the practice of pharmacy under pharmacist supervision and follow policy.
• Enter patient and drug information using pharmacy systems accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications and check for interactions.
• Assist pharmacists with scheduling and workflow, report prescription errors promptly.
• Handle cash and assist customers to locate OTC products; take calls not requiring pharmacist attention.
• Lead and support inventory management, store supplies and loss-prevention tasks.
• Analyze pharmacy KPIs with management and assist in improving performance.
• Assist with clinical services and coordination with Walgreens healthcare providers when required.
