Job summary

UHS in Texas is seeking Pharmacy Technicians/Trainees to support the pharmacy under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. You will help prepare and distribute medications, maintain drug inventory and records, and operate within written procedures and regulatory guidelines.

You will work closely with healthcare professionals, travel between STHS facilities as needed, and demonstrate accuracy, reliability and commitment to compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years hospital or 1 year IV experience preferred.
• Knowledge of and compliance with laws, rules and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
• Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines, solve problems, and adapt to changes.
• Aptitude for working with other health care professionals
• Willing to travel between STHS facilities
• Commitment to Compliance Program and Code of Conduct including reporting issues to Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in various activities of the pharmacy department under supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
• Prepare and distribute medications and maintain drug inventory and records.
• Follow standard written procedures and state/federal regulations; do not perform duties reserved for a registered pharmacist.

Education

High School diploma or GED

Current Texas State Pharmacy Technician Registration

Associate's Degree preferred

ASHP IV certification or ACPE/ASHP program completion within 180 days
