Job summary

You will work under the Pharmacist-on-duty, preparing parenteral products and handling medication orders while ensuring compliance with USP standards. A hospital setting and sterile compounding experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of pharmacy; understanding of drug names, doses, strengths, and formulations.
• Must complete technician competency programs through on-the-job training.

Responsibilities

• Prepares parenteral products (IV, IVPB, TPN) per policies and USP797/ USP800 and compounding documentation.
• Processes printed medication orders and stock medication requests; processes ambulance trays and code cart trays.
• Answers telephone calls and assists customer service window.
• Replaces returned medications to appropriate storage areas.
• Monitors par levels, reorders, and restocks controlled substances as needed.
• Acts as a resource for fundamental and compounding technicians.
• Directly participates in new technician training.
