Job summary

Walgreens is seeking a Pharmacy Technician in New Jersey to work under the Pharmacist and support patient care and prescription processing.

Responsibilities include entering data, counting and dispensing medications, handling third-party claims, maintaining inventory, and assisting with clinical services and cash register duties. Strong English skills, 1 year of experience, and PTCB/ExCPT certification are required.

Qualifications

• PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
• One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
• Fluent reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
• Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in pharmacy practice under supervision of the pharmacist.
• Enter patient and drug information into pharmacy systems accurately.
• Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting and pouring medications.
• Verify medicine accuracy and check for possible interactions.
• Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors and adhere to company policies.
• Handle cash and guide customers to OTC products.
• Process (corrects and resubmits) third-party pharmacy claims.
• Lead inventory management: ordering, unpacking, storage, claims.
• Analyze Rx KPIs with Store Manager and Healthcare Supervisor.
• Assist in clinical services coordination with Walgreens clinics.
• Develop relationships with local medical community and providers.
• Support the Pickup program.
• Maintain clean, stocked Pharmacy Department and assist with maintenance.
• Coach technicians and cashiers in processes and tools.
