General Summary

Performs advanced pharmacy technician duties and participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

• Manage medication procurement, inventory, shortages, and recalls.
• Support pharmacists by acquiring clinical data and coordinating special projects.
• Conduct audits, quality assurance, barcode scanning, oversee controlled substances, and handle billing, including LTC and Medicare D claims.
• Serve as a resource for automation technology and troubleshooting, including IV workflow, Pyxis cabinets, and robotics.
• Provide cross-training for staff in various departments.
• Monitor regulatory compliance, inventory, and drug shortages.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with 2 years of experience, or an associate's/technical degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
• Preferred: 3+ years of technician experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office preferred.
• Excellent communication skills required.

Licenses & Certifications

• Valid State of Michigan Pharmacy Technician license required.
