Job summary

Houston Methodist is seeking an experienced Senior Pharmacy Technician for the 2nd shift, full-time 40 hours per week. The role covers day-to-day pharmacy operations from routine tasks to advanced functions in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities include controlled substance management, chemotherapy compounding, unit dose dispensing, and supporting OR/ICU pharmacy assignments. The individual will assist with training new staff and interns and contribute to quality and safety initiatives.

Qualifications

• Two years of Pharmacy Technician experience applicable to the specific work setting.
• High school diploma or equivalent education or higher.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day comprehensive pharmacy services from routine to advanced functions.
• Assist with data collection and training of new employees, residents, and interns.
• Support controlled substance management and chemotherapy compounding.
• Maintain unit dose dispensing technology and Pyxis coordination.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure patient safety and efficient operations.
