The Pharmacy Technician 3 at the University of Miami prepares medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. This role assists with dispensing processes, dosing labels, inventory management, and advanced level compounding, including chemotherapy and TPNs.

The technician may coordinate the department and mentor trainees as part of the team. Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 4 years of relevant experience and a valid Florida Pharmacy Technician

Qualifikationen

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent with relevant experience and certification/license.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant experience required.
• Knowledge/Skills: Learning agility, teamwork, technical proficiency, and strong communication.

Aufgaben

• Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
• Fills orders and prepares labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
• Implements inventory control procedures and ordering supplies within regulatory guidelines.
• Responsible for hazardous, specialized, or advanced level compounding, which may include chemotherapy, epidural, ophthalmology, CADD pumps, and TPNs.
• Serves as a Pharmacy Technician Coordinator, as needed and may be cross trained in major department roles and responsibilities.
• Participates in temporary taskforce/short-term committee.
• Resolves problems related to prescription inquiries.
• Performs the preceptor role in training of students and onboarding of new pharmacy technicians.
• Mentors or role models; stays abreast of advanced knowledge and proficient practice.
