Job summary

The University of Miami is seeking a Pharmacy Technician 2 to prepare medications for patients under the guidance of a Pharmacist. The role involves processing prescriptions, price-checking, restocking drugs, and assisting with basic compounding.

Candidates must have a Florida Pharmacy Technician license, a high school diploma or equivalent, at least one year of related experience, and strong teamwork and communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site staff position within UHealth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent or relevant experience with certification/licensing.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Valid State of Florida Registered Pharmacy Technician license required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collects, inputs, and verifies prescription, refill, and patient information and maintains patient records.
• Assists pharmacists in filling orders and preparing labels for unit doses and prepackaged pharmaceuticals.
• Receives and stocks incoming medical supplies and drugs.
• Assists with compounding (didactic and/or basic hands-on).
• Participates in training and continuing education to attain competency in technician duties.
