Providence Jobs in Lubbock, TX, is seeking an Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III to fill and dispense medications for nursing units and other departments. You will handle oral and IV meds, triage orders, and ensure ADS integrity in a fast-paced hospital setting at Covenant Medical Center.

The ideal candidate has a Texas license, PTCB certification, and at least 2 years of hospital or integrated health system experience with EHR and ADM exposure. Day shift, on-site position with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma or GED required.
• Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee upon hire.
• Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License upon hire.
• Minimum 2 years of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system with PTCB, or 3 years hospital pharmacy without PTCB.
• Experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR).

Responsibilities

• Fill/dispense oral and IV medications to nursing units promptly and accurately.
• Triage patient orders and maintain the integrity of the automated dispensing system.
• Provide advanced knowledge in two or more pharmacy specialty areas.
• Support clinical care and ensure safe medication management.

Description

The Acute Care Pharmacy Tech III performs duties relating to the filling and dispensing of unit dose and stock medications from the pharmacy to the nursing units and other ancillary departments in a prompt accurate manner. Fill/dispense oral and IV medications, triaging patient orders and maintaining the integrity of the automated dispensing system (ADS). Has advanced knowledge and skills in two or more specialty areas in the pharmacy.

Required Qualifications:

• H.S. Diploma or GED

• Upon hire: Texas Pharmacy Technician Trainee or

• Upon hire: Texas Registered Pharmacy Technician License

• Minimum of 2 years (> 4160 clock hours) of pharmacy practice in an integrated health system and PTCB certification - OR - 3 years (> 6240 hours) hospital pharmacy if technician does not have PTCB certification

• Previous experience with Automated Dispensing Machines (ADMs) and electronic health records (EHR)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Graduate of a Pharmacy Technician program

• Advanced PTCB certificate (e.g., compounded sterile products, advanced certified pharmacy technician, medication history certificate, controlled substances)

• Specialty certification (e.g. ACPE approved sterile compounding certification) where applicable by role and state
