Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando is seeking a part-time Pharmacy Technician to independently prepare and dispense medications, manage sterile compounding, and support inventory and formulary processes. The role requires strong communication, English proficiency, and hospital pharmacy experience.

You will work on-site at 601 E Rollins Street, coordinating with nurses and clinicians to ensure safe, accurate medication use across shifts, while adhering to USP guidelines and institutional protocols.

Qualifications

• Requires 1+ year hospital pharmacy experience
• Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) required
• Must be able to read, write and speak English
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares and dispenses patient-specific medication doses, ensuring correct drug, dose, dosage form, expiration dating, and barcode scanning
• Compounds and manages complex and sterile medication preparations, including chemotherapy and hazardous formulations, following USP <795>, <797>, <800> guidelines and institutional protocols
• Manages inventory operations including ordering, stocking, rotating stock, and perpetual counts
• Monitors medication storage and cold chain custody, ensuring inventory integrity
• Collaborates with pharmacy staff and clinicians to optimize patient care and ensure continuity of services
