Colchester Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Senior Pharmacy Assistant – Logistics to join the Pharmacy department at Colchester hospital. The role involves ensuring timely supply and delivery of medicines across clinical areas, with cross-site work throughout the hospital.

The successful candidate will support stock control, restocking, and procurement processes within a modern NHS environment, contributing to patient safety and efficiency of the Medicines Supply service.

Responsibilities

• Provide holistic Medicines Supply service to internal and external customers in line with agreed pharmacy standards.
• Carry out a re-stocking service to the supply service customers.
• Receipt pharmaceuticals into the department from external wholesalers and suppliers; checking invoices diligently and in line with departmental procedures; then storing within Pharmacy in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations.
• Issue and prepare goods for dispatch to customers.
• Assist the Principal Technician for Stores and Distribution Services in ensuring that all required medication safety and governance issues are actioned within the working environment.
