Job summary

Cigna Healthcare in Bloomfield, CT is seeking a Pharmacy Clinical Pharmacist-Clinical Program Senior Advisor to lead formulary strategies across pharmacy and medical benefits, develop and launch utilization management programs, and forecast drug pipelines.

You will collaborate with matrix partners, provide SME input on new medications, respond to RFPs, and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements while driving affordable care and improved outcomes.

Qualifications

• PharmD preferred; advanced degree a plus.
• Licensed Pharmacist required.
• Minimum of 3 years Commercial formulary management experience required, preferably in a Health Plan or PBM setting.
• Experience developing end to end Pharmacy Clinical Programs required.
• Proven capabilities in strategic planning and clinical program development required.
• Solid understanding of evidence based medicine, interpreting clinical literature, and standards of care required.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and collaborate cross-functionally.

Responsibilities

• Execute formulary management strategies for major drug classes across pharmacy and medical benefits.
• Design and implement actions to drive affordability and meet quarterly targets.
• Coordinate with matrix partners to assess opportunities for non-condition based clinical programs.
• Track market changes, pipeline, and new product offerings to inform strategy.
• Provide clinical SME input on release and placement of new medications to client-facing partners.
• Support condition-based program managers to enhance affordability and health outcomes.
• Coordinate responses to RFP inquiries and ensure regulatory alignment.
