Job summary

Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a Senior Medical Safety Scientist in the Princeton, NJ area (also San Diego, CA) to lead safety surveillance across the product lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Safety Physicians and cross-functional teams to identify, evaluate, and communicate safety risks and support regulatory submissions. The role requires advanced pharmacovigilance expertise, 7+ years in drug safety, and strong knowledge of MedDRA, DSURs, and risk management.

Qualifications

• Pharmacovigilance experience in drug safety, pharmacovigilance, or risk management.
• Experience with safety surveillance, signal detection, and benefit-risk assessment.
• Proficiency in MS Office and safety data review; familiarity with MedDRA.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the scientific safety lead for assigned products and provide PV expertise across development and post-marketing.
• Review safety data from trials, post-marketing sources, literature, and partners to support surveillance.
• Lead signal detection, evaluation, and aggregate safety analyses and safety narrative development.
• Author safety deliverables including DSURs, SSPs, AOSEs, and risk management documentation.
• Support regulatory submissions, health authority responses, and safety governance activities.
• Provide safety expertise to governance committees and cross-functional teams.
