Job summary

Global end to end full service pharmaceutical company in the Knoxville area seeks an Engineering Manager to lead engineering, maintenance, validation, and technical services. You will drive reliability, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across production equipment, facility systems, and programs.

As a site leader, you will manage projects, develop talent, and partner cross-functionally to optimize performance, reduce downtime, and support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• Demonstrated mastery of Pharmaceutical cGMP/cGDP principles.
• Significant experience leading engineering, maintenance, technical services, or operations teams in a regulated environment.
• 6+ years of relevant experience and 2+ years in a management role.
• Experience in pharmaceutical cGMP manufacturing, packaging, OSD, or sterile settings.
• Experience with automated manufacturing, packaging equipment; pharma packaging preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, facilities, and manufacturing systems.
• Proven leadership to develop teams and drive engagement.
• Solid understanding of RCA, Change Control, CAPA, risk assessments, and validation.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and mentor engineering, maintenance, validation, and technical services teams.
• Establish maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and facility performance.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce downtime.
• Collaborate with operations, quality, and stakeholders to meet objectives.
• Lead projects from concept to implementation within schedule and budget.
• Support specification, installation, startup, qualification, and lifecycle management of systems.
• Use data and metrics to identify and implement process improvements.
• Drive CAPA, risk assessments, and validation activities; ensure regulatory readiness.
• Develop strategies to minimize interruptions and optimize changeovers.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and equipment performance.
• Align workforce capabilities through training and development.
• Analyze performance data to support strategic decisions and excellence.
