Job summary

People Inc. in New York is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to own the design and deployment of personalized recommendation models.

You will work end-to-end from data signals and catalog to production, evaluating offline and online, and iterating as signals evolve. You will collaborate with the data, engineering, and product teams to ship models that drive engagement, handle cold-start, and scale to millions of products.

Qualifications

• Strong data science fundamentals: statistics, experimental design, and evaluation methodology.
• Experience designing, training, and deploying embedding models and vector retrieval for catalog scale.
• Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred) and modern ML frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of core recommendation models for personalized feeds.
• Define offline evaluation and connect results to online outcomes; run A/B and multivariate tests.
• Collaborate with data engineering on data quality, freshness, and catalog scaling.
• Take models from prototype to production with proper monitoring and governance.
