Job summary

Qualifications

• Advanced engineering degrees or equivalent experience with progression to Development Engineer II at First Solar.
• Engineering discipline with substantial relevant technical experience required.
• Strong knowledge across PV device theory, materials science, process engineering and characterization.
• Proven ownership mindset with hands-on, can-do attitude and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent communication skills across organizational boundaries and teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities to improve solar cell efficiency, material selection and process/equipment design.
• Improve state-of-the-art material analysis techniques and statistical data analysis; develop work plans with unclear paths.
• May determine material and tool specifications to enhance performance.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external partners; support cross-functional projects and sub-deliverables.
• May train, mentor and manage junior staff on subject matter.
• Ensure compliance with Environmental, Quality, Safety policies and drive continuous improvement.
