Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. seeks a Senior Principal Practice Leader - Permitting & Planning to lead an expanding energy-focused practice in Austin or Houston, Texas.

You will drive client development, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning while managing complex projects from design through permitting and construction. This position requires a seasoned professional with 15+ years of experience, strong leadership, and a track record of managing energy infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years experience in planning, permitting, and regulatory compliance for project lifecycles.
• Experience managing permitting, planning, compliance and environmental oversight of energy infrastructure projects.
• Experience delivering projects including planning, controls, and risk management.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams.
• Strong leadership and client development abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead business development to maintain client relationships and proposals.
• Serve as permitting subject matter expert for siting and environmental reviews.
• Engage in public involvement programs, open houses, meetings and hearings.
• Manage routing/siting studies, analyses, and reports.
• Oversee project delivery, budgeting, controls, and subcontract management.
• Build and mentor a growth-oriented team across disciplines.
• Collaborate with engineers, attorneys, planners, and environmental specialists.
