Job summary

UPMC is seeking a Senior Professional Staff Nurse II to advance nursing practice and patient outcomes within a peri-operative setting. The role emphasizes direct patient care, collaboration with physicians and teams, and leadership to maintain high standards of care throughout the patient continuum.

The position requires at least 2 years of relevant experience, PA RN licensure, and CPR/AHA certification. It offers opportunities for professional growth and contribution to process improvements

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in peri-operative, surgery/procedural center, ICU or ER preferred.
• BSN preferred; master's in nursing may substitute for certification.
• Current PA RN licensure and CPR/AHA standards required.
• Ability to lead others and maintain professional relationships with staff and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care in the peri-operative setting.
• Prepare the operating room with sterile instruments and supplies.
• Create a caring, compassionate experience for patients and families.
• Communicate changes in patient condition and contribute to care plans.
• Maintain unit readiness by stocking, organizing, and cleaning areas as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education

BSN preferred

Master's in Nursing or DNP substitution allowed
