Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking an Administrative Director of Patient Care (RN) for Perioperative Support Services at Jersey City Medical Center. This full-time DAY position requires a BSN, RN license in New Jersey, and 7–10 years of perioperative experience with 5+ years in OR leadership.

The role oversees surgical services, OR/SPD workflows, physician relations and patient safety initiatives while managing a unit budget, staff development and quality programs. Day shift, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• BSN required.
• 7–10 years perioperative experience in an academic or tertiary care setting.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in the operating room.
• 8 hours/year of professional development focused on hospital leadership.
• Active New Jersey RN license.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership for surgical services with ER, cardiac and trauma volumes and robotics.
• Oversee OR and SPD workflows, standardize preference cards and monitor efficiency metrics.
• Lead change, foster accountability and drive quality improvement.
• Develop and manage unit budgets and schedules; monitor supplies and equipment.
• Ensure high-quality nursing care aligned with hospital policies and patient safety goals.
