Job summary

NVIDIA Corporation is seeking a Senior Performance Verification Engineer to join the CPU Performance verification Team. You will define and execute performance verification strategy for sophisticated CPU designs, analyze workloads and benchmarks, and build the necessary verification infrastructure to support performance analysis.

You will collaborate with architects and design engineers, draft test plans, and mentor junior engineers while handling multiple tasks.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in EE/ECE or equivalent experience.
• PhD is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in CPU performance modeling, performance correlation or performance analysis.
• Strong understanding in CPU micro architecture and designs.
• Experience with workload analysis and characterization.
• Strong coding skills in scripting languages like Perl, Python, or C++.
• Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a team player.

Responsibilities

• Define/plan/implement/execute performance verification strategy for sophisticated CPU designs.
• Delve into lowest level details of CPU unit design spec, implementation and performance impact.
• Interact with architect/design engineers to define detailed scope of micro-architectural features.
• Draft detailed performance test plans and create scalable microbenchmarks for validation.
• Analyze and correlate CPU benchmarks/workloads.
• Build infra/tools needed for efficient performance correlation debugging.
• Lead and provide detailed technical guidance to junior engineers.

Job description

We are now looking for a Senior Performance Verification Engineer! As a member of our CPU Performance verification Team, you will be responsible for performance correlation, analyzing workloads and benchmarks for performance bottlenecks, developing microbenchmarks and creating the necessary verification infrastructure for performance analysis. What you’ll be doing

• Technical leadership role to define/plan/implement/execute performance verification strategy of sophisticated CPU designs
• Ability to delve into lowest level details of CPU unit design specification, implementation and it's performance impact
• Interactions with architect and design engineers to define detailed scope of micro architectural features
• Draft detailed performance testplans and define/Create scalable micros to validate features
• Analysis and correlation of CPU benchmarks/workloads
• Build infra/tooling needed for efficient performance correlation debug
• Ability to lead and provide detailed technical guidance to junior engineers
• Agility to work on multiple tasks/projects

What we need to see

• Strong understanding in CPU micro architecture and designs
• Experience with workload analysis and characterization
• Strong coding skills in scripting languages like Perl, Python, or C++
• Good communication skills and ability & desire to work as a team player are a must.

Ways to stand out from the crowd

• Experience leading performance validation of major blocks of CPU pipeline
• Background with ARM A64, X86 Architectures

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 136,000 USD - 218,500 USD for Level 3, and 168,000 USD - 264,500 USD for Level 4. You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.
