Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Senior Performance Test Engineer to ensure scalability and reliability of enterprise applications through comprehensive performance testing and engineering practices. You will collaborate with developers, architects, DevOps, and stakeholders to identify bottlenecks and drive optimization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in Software Quality Engineering, Performance Testing, or Performance Engineering.
• Hands-on experience with LoadRunner and JMeter for testing and execution.
• Strong experience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools such as Datadog, New Relic, and AWS CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in LoadRunner, Performance Center, Java, Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Experience analyzing performance metrics across application, database, network, memory, and CPU.
• Understanding of performance engineering methodologies, workload modeling, and scalability testing.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute performance testing strategies, including load, stress, endurance, and spike testing for enterprise apps.
• Develop and maintain reusable performance test scripts using LoadRunner and JMeter.
• Create complex workload models that simulate real-world user behavior and system usage patterns.
• Analyze metrics to identify bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
• Partner with DevOps to integrate performance testing into CI/CD and support continuous validation.
