The role leads end‑to‑end performance campaigns, profiles pre‑production code, diagnoses production degradation, and works with AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate analysis while ensuring measurement quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years in performance engineering and testing.
• Experience designing workload models and executing performance test campaigns against distributed, multi‑tier systems with tools such as JMeter, Gatling, k6, or LoadRunner.
• Demonstrated experience diagnosing performance problems in latency‑sensitive systems using profilers and system tooling (perf, eBPF/bpftrace, async‑profiler, JFR, flame graphs).
• A rigorous statistical approach to measurement and understanding of coordinated omission.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for explaining latency distributions to mixed technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Deep knowledge in Linux performance, JVM internals, or networking.

Responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end performance validation for assigned areas of the derivatives trading platform (order entry, matching engine, market data paths).
• Design and execute load, stress, and capacity test suites in pre‑production and production‑like environments.
• Profile pre‑production services to surface bottlenecks and partner with teams to resolve findings before release.
• Maintain production performance baselines and identify degradation and risk.
• Investigate latency and capacity events in production and draft root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Contribute to capacity planning and infrastructure sizing from measured behavior.
• Plan and execute non‑functional testing (resiliency, failover, scalability, capacity) ~20% of time.
• Document methodologies, results, and findings for engineering, audit, and regulators.
• Contribute to team tooling, harnesses, and measurement practices.
