Job summary

The Associate RDN at the University of Nebraska Athletic Department develops, implements, and evaluates nutrition strategies for student-athletes, oversees fueling stations, and supports sports dietitians and the student internship program.

This role collaborates with nutrition, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, psychological services, food service, and team staffs to provide nutrition resources for athletes, coaches, staff, and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition or related field or Master’s degree in Nutrition or Master’s degree with DPD requirements.
• 3 years of experience as a dietitian.
• Must be a Registered Dietitian.
• Strong clinical skills in medical nutrition therapy.
• Knowledge of performance nutrition principles and strategies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced athletic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate nutrition strategies for student-athletes.
• Oversee fueling stations and support sports dietitians and the internship program.
• Collaborate with nutrition, sports medicine, strength and conditioning, psychology, food service, and team staffs.
• Serve as a nutrition resource for student-athletes, coaches, staff and families.
• Work independently within departmental policies; assist with program development and quality improvement.
