Job summary

Persona AI Inc. in Houston, TX seeks a Senior Perception Engineer focused on sensors, firmware, and drivers. You will own sensor-to-algorithm workflows, bring up imaging hardware, and write V4L2 drivers for NVIDIA Jetson platforms, ensuring low-latency data paths and robust time synchronization across sensors.

You will review hardware with EE, validate real-world performance, and drive calibration/validation for industrial settings. Team emphasizes hands-on hardware work and rapid iteration.

Qualifications

• 5+ years building embedded sensor, firmware, or driver systems in robotics or similar hardware-heavy domains.
• Strong C/C++ and Python; comfortable in the Linux kernel.
• Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms, Jetson Linux BSP, and device tree.
• Camera bring-up experience: MIPI CSI-2, V4L2, GMSL2/3, I2C/SPI.

Responsibilities

• Bring up imaging and depth sensors end to end on target hardware.
• Write and maintain V4L2 / MIPI CSI-2 drivers for Jetson platforms.
• Build low-latency sensor ingest pipelines using CUDA, GStreamer.
• Own multi-sensor time synchronization across cameras, lidar, IMU.
• Collaborate with EE on sensor boards; debug with scope and tools.
• Validate sensors in harsh industrial environments and EMI conditions.
• Develop calibration/validation infrastructure and hardware tests.
• Partner with vendors on firmware revisions and errata.
