Job summary

Houston Community College seeks an experienced IT professional to administer and optimize PeopleSoft environments across HR, Finance, and Student Administration. Responsibilities include planning, installation, configuration, change control, patch management and performance tuning in a 24x7 setting.

Collaborate with IT peers, write automation scripts, monitor health, and provide strategic implementation plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or 8 years directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• 5 years work experience in a production 24/7 environment required, including 2 years administering, maintaining, tuning and monitoring information management systems, and 1 year administering operating systems and application servers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with other IT administrators to design, plan and implement the PeopleSoft server environments.
• Write scripts to automate daily administrative tasks.
• Monitor environment for proper operation and performance; ensure availability expectations are met.
• Develop strategic technical implementation plans and work plans for technical teams.
• Provide training and mentoring to other team members.
