Otter.ai is seeking a Senior People Operations Partner to join our Mountain View team. You will own day-to-day HR operations while shaping programs, processes, and systems to support employees and the business.

The role is hybrid, with in-office Tue–Thu, reporting to the VP of People. You’ll work across payroll, benefits, compliance, talent acquisition, learning, and employee experience in a fast-growing environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience across People Operations or HR Business Partnership.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws across multiple states.
• Exceptional attention to detail with precise execution.
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
• Ownership mindset and biased for action in delivery.

The Opportunity

Otter.ai is looking for a Senior People Operations Partner to join our People team and help deliver an exceptional employee experience as we continue to grow and scale.

Reporting to the VP, People, this is a highly collaborative, hands-on role with broad exposure across the People function. You’ll own critical day-to-day HR operations while also helping build and improve the programs, processes, and systems that support our employees and the business.

This is a hybrid role, with an expectation to work from our office Tuesday through Thursday each week. We believe being together in person creates meaningful opportunities for collaboration, connection, and partnership, particularly for a role that works so closely with employees and leaders across the company.

Your work will span people operations, employee experience, HR systems, benefits and payroll, compliance, talent acquisition, learning and development, and more.

Your Impact

• Deliver a high-touch, customer-first experience to employees, managers, and cross-functional partners
• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of People programs, policies, and processes
• Own and execute a range of day-to-day People Operations activities, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and an excellent employee experience
• Partner with our PEO and internal stakeholders to support payroll, benefits, compensation administration, and other employee programs
• Manage employee leaves of absence, including coordination with employees, managers, our PEO, and applicable leave programs
• Support recruiting, pre-boarding, and new-hire readiness in partnership with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers
• Manage the background screening process and related pre-employment requirements
• Lead employee onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a thoughtful and seamless experience
• Coordinate employment-based immigration matters, partnering with employees, managers, and external immigration counsel to support visa sponsorship, transfers, extensions, and other immigration processes.
• Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, and HR systems
• Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements and help translate regulatory requirements into practical People processes
• Identify opportunities to simplify, automate, and improve how we operate as the company scales
• Contribute to broader People initiatives across employee experience, engagement, learning and development, and organizational effectiveness

We’re Looking for Someone Who

• Brings 5+ years of progressive HR experience across Human Resources, People Operations, and/or HR Business Partnership, ideally within a high-growth environment
• Has strong working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR compliance, with experience navigating requirements across multiple states
• Has exceptional attention to detail and a track record of executing accurately in areas where the details matter
• Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is comfortable balancing multiple priorities while adapting as business needs evolve
• Operates with a strong sense of ownership, sound judgment, and a bias for action
• Builds trusted relationships and collaborates effectively with employees, managers, executives, and cross-functional partners
• Has experience building, improving, and scaling People processes and programs rather than simply administering established ones
• Thinks critically about the employee experience and looks for ways to make People programs more effective, intuitive, and scalable
• Is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and moving fluidly between strategic projects and hands-on execution
• Brings curiosity, resourcefulness, and a continuous-improvement mindset to their work

Salary Range

Salary range: $155,000 to $185,000 USD per year.

This salary range represents the low and high end of the estimated salary range for this position. The actual base salary offered for the role is dependent on several factors. Our base salary is just one component of a comprehensive total rewards package.
