Job description

The Senior People & Operations Manager reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and is responsible for leading the Client Service Associate (CSA) team and overseeing the daily operations, people management, and employee relations within the client service function. This role manages a large team and serves as the primary point of contact for employee-related matters.

The ideal candidate brings a combination of strong operational leadership, hands‑on HR expertise, and people management experience, with proven ability to oversee client services in the financial industry.

Location

This position is based in Atlanta, GA. Due to the demands of the role, this is an in‑office position.

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervises CSAs and Silo Leaders.
  • Responsible for hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management of assigned staff.
  • Serves as the first‑line owner of employee relations and human resource matters within the client service function.
  • Supports workforce planning, organizational structure decisions, and talent development within the client service team.
Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters within the client service function, including performance issues, conduct concerns, interpersonal conflicts, and workplace questions.
  • Manages employee relations issues, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans, escalating when appropriate.
  • Interprets and applies HR policies and employment practices consistently across the client service team.
  • Oversees day‑to‑day client service operations to ensure service standards are consistently met.
  • Monitors staffing levels, workflows, and productivity to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Ensures onboarding, training, and development programs align with both operational needs and people strategy.
  • Acts as an escalation point for complex service or operational issues.
  • Leads and supports operational and client service strategy initiatives in partnership with the COO and senior leadership.
  • Translates strategic goals into actionable operational plans within the client service function.
  • Analyzes operational and employee data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborates with Compliance and Operations teams to support regulatory requirements.
  • Communicates operational updates, employee trends, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Required Skills/Abilities
  • Strong people leadership and employee relations skills.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive employee matters.
  • Strong operational, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of HR practices, including performance management, corrective action, and employee development.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Experience within an RIA, Wirehouse, or similar environment required.
  • 8–10+ years of experience in client service operations, people management, or employee relations within the financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams of 30+ employees.
  • Hands‑on experience serving as first‑line employee relations leader or HRBP equivalent.
  • Advanced HR certification (SHRM‑SCP/SPHR) or master’s degree (MBA, MHR, or related field) preferred.
  • Experience partnering with senior or executive leadership preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
