Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. People & Culture Generalist contractor in a hybrid role based in California or Virginia.

The candidate will support compliance, employee relations, performance management, and policy development across locations, with Workday-based lifecycle activities and strong cross-functional collaboration. Requirements include a 5+ year HR background, knowledge of employment laws, and the ability to guide leaders and staff on P&C processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field or equivalent.
• 5+ years of related experience in human resources.
• Knowledge of onboarding, performance management, compensation and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Develops partnerships across the People & Culture team to deliver value-added service to leaders and employees.
• Provide general P&C support to employees and managers, including inquiries/tickets and guidance on policies.
• Coach leaders in day-to-day guidance, career development, basic employment law compliance, and disciplinary actions.
• Assist employees with P&C inquiries and ensure timely responses with Centers of Excellence.
• Contribute to development and execution of P&C policies and procedures; provide guidance to leaders and staff.
• Suggest new policies to improve employee experience and P&C efficiency.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; review policies to ensure compliance.
• Perform P&C processes in Workday and maintain employee records.
• Manage employee separation processes and exit documentation for contingent and non-contingent workers.
• Support global employee programs and events as needed.
• Identify and execute process improvements and efficiencies; support strategy implementation.
