County of Sonoma is seeking a Retirement Investment Analyst II to conduct detailed data collection and analysis for the Investment Program. The role supports the Board of Retirement and collaborates with consultants, custodians, and investment managers.

Ideal candidates have public pension investment experience, strong Excel and data skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. This is a hybrid role with a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of investment experience within a public pension system, investment consulting firm, financial institution, or institutional investment environment.
• Advanced coursework in portfolio management, investment performance measurement, or risk management.
• Working knowledge of institutional asset allocation, investment performance measurement, benchmarking, and compliance monitoring.
• Knowledge of public pension governance and fiduciary responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Independently researching and analyzing investment performance, asset allocation, market trends, investment managers, and investment policies.
• Monitoring portfolio compliance, investment guidelines, proxy voting activities, and regulatory developments affecting the Investment Program.
• Preparing comprehensive investment reports, Board and Investment Committee meeting materials, presentations, and meeting minutes.
• Performing portfolio monitoring, investment manager performance evaluations, compliance reviews, and exception reporting.
• Evaluating financial and economic data to identify trends, risks, and issues requiring management attention.
